Gallery Apartment
Galerie Flak, a gallery within the walls of a house, located in the former studio of the artist Ossip Zadkine.
During a decorative reinvention project of its owner Julien Flak's home, the space gradually took on a new dimension. As the collaboration progressed, the idea emerged: to bring the collection into the house and shift the perspective, evolving the gallery towards a more vibrant, lived-in, almost domestic format.
Today, the gallery is located in this family home on Rue de Sèvres, where the artworks interact with a decor entirely rethought by Studio du 34.
Art here is presented in an openly domestic setting: the living room, library, or dining room become hanging spaces in a living environment, far from the white cube, closer to materials, light, and volumes.
A discreet yet essential institution for lovers of tribal arts, Galerie Flak, a discreet yet essential institution for lovers of tribal arts, is one of those historic addresses that has shaped the Parisian landscape of the Rue des Beaux-Arts for over thirty-five years.
